Gunbot config setup: Telegram

Ok so you have completed the steps to create your bot, group and gathered the information like group ID, user ID and your bot token. Lets take a look at how and what to edit in your Gunbot config file.

First let’s take a quick look at where to download Gunbot and the files your receive.

Stable release is recommended for first time users. https://github.com/GuntharDeNiro/BTCT/releases NOTE:(beta versions are available from the “Gunthy Announcement” telegram channel)

Select your flavor of OS and download the zip file, unzip the folder to the directory you want to run Gunbot from. Lets take a look at what you get.

Inside the zip folder you will see a sub folder, this is the windows sub folder. Your config files and .exe are contained here.

There are two files we are going to look at and change for your Telegram bot. #1 is your main Gunbot configuration file. the #2nd is a setting file for the bot its self. Lets sort these out.

Before we can start to edit these files we need the recommended software for viewing and changing the config files. we recommend Notepad++ its free and really easy to use. Note:(using the basic windows note pad can cause issue with the config files.) https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/

Once installed go back to the Gunbot folder you unzipped. Ok we can finally start to edit our configs and get the ball rolling. Right click on the config file and select “edit with notpad++” option in the menu.

Scroll Down till you see a section called “bot” inside the redbox is your telegram config setting this is where we will place the information gathered earlier.

The blue arrow is where you place your gunthy wallet address. go ahead and do that now if you wish.

BR_token is not needed for now unless you are running autoconfig or BitRage both are addon to Gunbot trading software and will be covered at a later date.

Lets have a look at what to change for now.

(note: dont forget to turn off TG_TEST: true when you get the first message or it will keep sending tests.)

Your settings should look like this now. Ok we have only one more step to get your Telegram bot running. Lets now look at the last file and make the changes we need its really simple and fast.

Open this file the same as above right click it and select edit with notepad++.

Change these from false to true if you want telegram notification and false to turn them off. THATS IT!! your done your telegram bot configuration CONGRATS!
